Conservative street artist Sabo has released new posters targeting President Barack Obama and director J.J. Abrams.
The incendiary posters — displayed in Brentwood, Pacific Palisades and Santa Monica — take aim at the $33,400-per-person roundtable discussion with Obama that Abrams and his wife are hosting at their home on Oct. 10. The fundraising event will benefit the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. Abrams is directing the new Star Wars film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Sabo’s posters show Obama and Abrams in a compromising position, with the headline “Presidential Circle Jerk” and the caption “$33,400 per-jerk, everyone else prepare for traffic Oct. 10th.”
The signs were posted around Bad Robot in Santa Monica, but have been torn down since.
This is far from the first time Sabo has created controversial artwork. In December 2014 he created a fake Rolling Stone cover with Lena Dunham on it, with the headline: “Rape Fantasies and Why We Perpetuate Them.” He also mocked Obama and Hillary Clinton‘s efforts to fundraise in L.A. in June and protested the Iran nuke deal in July.
This weekend, Sabo is attending Politicon in Los Angeles and will appear on a panel that also includes Robbie Conal and Shepard Fairey.
Bad Robot and the White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
