Taylor Swift is serving up her patriotism.
The Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter is encouraging fans to vote early in the 2018 midterm elections. On Wednesday, Swift posted a photo of her toes painted red, white and blue, followed by a second photo of her wearing what appears to be a top with white stars embroidered on it.
The singer captioned the post: “Something I wish I knew about when I was 18 and voting for the first time: EARLY VOTING.”
“It makes it so quick and easy to go and cast your vote before November 6,” Swift continued. “Early voting starts TODAY in Tennessee and goes to Nov 1. You can check out your state’s early voting dates at the link in my bio.”
Until recently, Swift had not revealed her political views, which had often prompted backlash from fans and critics of the singer.
Her latest political statement comes just weeks after Swift posted a message on her Instagram account endorsing Democrat Phil Bredesen, who is running for the Senate seat in Tennessee against Republican candidate Marsha Blackburn. The state’s open Senate seat comes after two-term Republican Sen. Bob Corker decided to retire.
