Trump Labels Miss Universe Paulina Vega a “Hypocrite” After She Calls His Mexican Immigrant Comments “Unjust and Hurtful”

It was only a matter of time before the current Miss Universe, Colombia’s Paulina Vega, made a statement regarding Donald Trump‘s I-don’t-like-Mexicans speech.

And so it came, via her Instagram account, where she let her 965,000 followers know that she found Trump’s comments “unjust and hurtful.”

“As a Colombian and as Miss Universe, I want to show my support and validate the sentiments of the Latin community,” she wrote. Vega went further, putting distance between herself and Trump, stating that the Miss Universe Organization “works independently from its owners.”

Trump, predictably, didn’t take her comments lightly, and lashed right back.

“Miss Universe, Paulina Vega, criticized me for telling the truth about illegal immigration, but then said she would keep the crown-Hypocrite,” wrote Trump on his Twitter account at 4:57 a.m. ET on Sunday.

I find Mr. Trump’s comments unjust and hurtful. As a Colombian and as Miss Universe, I want to show my support and validate the sentiments of the Latin community.
