President Trump signed a new travel ban on Monday, barring visitors from six majority-Muslim countries: Iran, Syria, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen and Libya. Iraq, which fell under the previous ban, has been removed from the list. The revised ban prohibits issuing new visas to citizens of those six countries and bars Syrian refugees from entering the U.S. for 120 days.
Despite its revisions, the new ban’s continued focus on Muslim-majority countries has drawn instant criticism from Hollywood stars, who took to social media to weigh in.
“Trump only issued a ‘new’ travel ban because he can’t stand that he lost on the old one. This is about his ego, not about our security,” tweeted George Takei. Kumail Nanjiani wrote, “Oh look, another travel ban. If the first movie is a massive flop, there usually isn’t a sequel right away. There’s no Waterworld 2.”
Rosie O’Donnell called the latest order a “Muslim ban,” Patton Oswalt retweeted a series of criticisms about the ban before calling for the mayor of Los Angeles to make L.A. a sanctuary city.

the intent of the EO is for a “Muslim Ban.” This violates the Establishment Clause of 1st Amendment There’s just no way around that #noBAN

Dear @ericgarcetti: I’ve been a supporter, but you will lose me (and a LOT of others) if you don’t change this IMMEDIATELY. Please? https://t.co/ZHQ9oqVZs3
