Polyband picks up 'Two Horses'

The picture begins shooting in Mongolia in June

CANNES -- Polyband, the documentary division of German distributor Splendid, has picked up German/Austrian rights to "The Two Horses of Genghis Khan," the new film from Oscar-nominated director Byambasuren Davaa ("The Story of the Weeping Camel") from Munich-based sales group Atrix Films.

The picture, which begins shooting in Mongolia in June, is a search for the origin of an the Mongolian folk song named in the title.

Atrix also signed several deals for Eric Style's romantic comedy "Buy Borrow Steal," with the Heather Graham starrer going to Kres Trading in Russia, ZDF in Germany and Hagi in Poland, among other territories. First Look picked up the film, about a woman desperate to conceive, for a summer roll out in the U.S.
