Disney Latin America, TVO, Knowledge in deal

TORONTO -- Canadian producer Decode Entertainment said Thursday that the preschool cartoon "Poppetstown" has been sold to Disney Channel Latin America and Canada's TVO and Knowledge networks.

Decode and series co-producer Neptuno of Spain sold 26-half hours of the 2-D animated series, a Canadian-Spanish co-production.

Decode Enterprises, Decode Entertainment's distribution arm, and Neptuno secured earlier sales of "Poppetstown" to France's Canal J, TeleQuebec and Disney International channels in the U.K., Spain, Scandinavia, Italy, Australasia and Taiwan.

Neptuno handles the distribution rights for Spain, Portugal and Latin America; Japan's OLC/Rights Entertainment has the rights in that Asian market; and Decode Enterprises retains the rest of the world.
