Judge approved petition in Los Angeles Thursday

Portia de Rossi is officially Portia DeGeneres.

A judge granted her name change -- to Portia Lee James DeGeneres-- Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court, TMZ.com reports.

Portia wed Ellen DeGeneres in August 2008 at their Los Angeles home. Both wore Zac Posen outfits (a princess gown for Portia; white suit for Ellen), and they exchanged Neil Lane rings.

They began dating in December 2004.
