The star of Style Network's upcoming "Closet Confidential" opens up to THR about her favorite designers (Tom Ford makes the cut) and her fashion mishaps (yes, she has them too!).

As one of the industry’s top stylists, Mary Alice Haney has been a mastermind behind the camera, dressing some of Hollywood’s hottest celebs (hello Blake Lively, Sarah Jessica Parker and Jennifer Lawrence), and starting Jan. 30 she will be in front of the lens on her new Style Network show Celebrity Closet Confidential, where she also serves as a producer.

In the series premiere, Haney (who has previously worked as a fashion editor for Marie Claire, GQ and Allure) teams up with LeAnn Rimes for a peek into her closet while she creates a new, sophisticated look for the singer. And while Haney will conceive a “fashion moment” for a new A-lister in each episode, she already has a favorite from her 25-year career.

“Working with Blake Lively when she wore the red Versace dress for the 2009 Emmy Awards and collaborating on that look with her and her amazing hair and makeup team was magic,” she says. “She is such a doll and loves fashion. I think it was a real fashion moment."

I am loving Givenchy and Gucci right now. I think it's two great examples of when new designers add something fresh and amazing to a storied brand. Of course Tom Ford will always be my style hero. I have so much of his Gucci collection and now covet so much of his new line. I have recently connected with the famous designer James Galanos. I had a few of his pieces that I bought from Lilly et cie and met him at the Met Costume council dinner a few years ago. He designed ready-to-wear in a couture way and was one of the most important Hollywood designers. I recently called him every day until he agreed to let me take him out to lunch! Of course my friend Monique Lhuillier is amazing. I love it when sweet, talented nice people also become very successful! I also love that she is a designing and making her beautiful dresses in Los Angeles. I’m also so excited to see what Hedi Slimane does at YSL and Raf Simons does at Dior.

I love small places like Curve and Les Pommettes. and I also go to Neiman Marcus and Barneys. One of my favorite stores in L.A. is Switch on Beverly in Beverly Hills. Julia and Jennifer (the owners) are both so stylish. and Julia's jewelry is insane. We met at a vintage store in Paris because I went up and asked her who made her gorgeous snake ring (she did!). I also love Curve and Lilly et cie for vintage.

A YSL white short Mink coat. It's insane.

My hidden "store" is the blog LeCatch.com. Marlien Rentmeester (former West Coast editor of Lucky) puts amazing pieces together and really knows how to mix high and low.

My beyond-yoga capri pants, cashmere sweater and scarf, YSL muse bag because it's so big it holds all my magazines, an iPad and children's toys. And a silk eye mask.

Yes! I hosted a party with Rose Byrne for fashion week in NYC last year on my parents' boat [on the river going around New York]. I wore a short sequined Gucci dress and decided to pair it with a sequined headband. I had just gone to the Naeem Khan show and he had these gorgeous headbands coming down the runway. I was inspired but together it was overkill and I looked a bit silly.
