Power Shopping: 'Revenge's' Ashley Madekwe Reveals Her Fashion Favorites
The actress and style blogger talks about her recent Chanel purchase and what product she loves to tote on long flights.
Revenge star Ashley Madekwe is as stylish off-screen as she is on playing the role of scheming, social climbing Hampton-ite, Ashley Davenport on the hit ABC drama series. The British-born actress has been spotted out-and-about in numerous high-low ensembles (think Topshop paired with Chanel or American Apparel meets Isabel Marant) that look fresh, unique and hip.
Madekwe is such a fashion fiend, that she has her own style blog “Ring My Bell” featuring lust-worthy and affordable items she’s digging, and photos of her carefully curated outfits (her husband, actor Iddo Goldberg, is the site’s photographer).
Between filming and blogging, squeezing in shopping seems to be challenging, but she’s up to it. “I've been known to spend an afternoon on ASOS.com,” she admits. “There's just so much on there and I can't stand not seeing all the new arrivals just in case I miss out.”
Right now I'm loving ACNE, Proenza Schouler and Isabel Marant. I'm also a huge fan of British stores like TopShop and River Island. I like to play around with mixing high end with more affordable pieces.
FAVORITE PLACE TO SHOP
Net-a-porter is great. I like shopping from the comfort of my bed whilst my husband is asleep beside me.
FAVORITE RECENT PURCHASE
Recently I splurged on a Chanel mini 'boy' bag. It's velvet and I'm probably going to make it bald from over use because I've worn it every day.
FAVORITE UNDER-THE-RADAR SHOP
It's not exactly under the radar but when I'm in London I love to visit Liberty. It's my favorite department store and they have a room entirely dedicated to chocolate and truffles.
FAVORITE TRAVEL MUST-HAVES
Flying really dehydrates my skin so I always take along a jar of Boots No. 7 face cream and a tube of Eight hour skin protectant from Elizabeth Arden. I spend the flight looking very, um.... Oily.
FAVORITE RED CARPET MOMENT
I wore a lovely dress from Zimmermann to the InStyle summer soirée. It was such a frothy girly look which is not my comfort zone at all. It's rare that a red carpet look makes it into my blog but that one did.
