Premiere six-pack on tap for Brussels fest


BRUSSELS -- Six world premieres will be screened among the 86 movies on tap at the Brussels International Festival of Fantastic Film, which opens Thursday.

A fixture for horror and sci-fi fans, the 13-day festival will feature the premieres of "Nothing Sacred," directed by Dylan Bank and Morgan Pehme; "Descendents," from Chilean horror helmer Jorge Olgun; "Present," by German director Harun Hazar; "I Against Ghost," from former film critic Jo Smets; "Shadow Spirit," directed by Masato Harada; and Belgium's "Le Prince De Ce Monde," by Manuel Gomez.

Among the special guests expected at the festival are Andy Serkis, Crispin Glover, German veteran Jurgen Prochnow, "Accion Mutante" director Alex De La Iglesia, "The Host" helmer Joon-ho Bong and "Asterix at the Olympic Games" star Clovis Cornillac.
