Mitchell chooses the scent for its adaptability, saying it is “perfect to wear during the day and then transition into night.”

The actress talks early 2000s fashion ("I don't know if I did it so well back then") and spills "PLL" secrets at the Wednesday event.

At the launch of Juicy Couture’s new fragrance, Couture La La, Shay Mitchell was wearing a unique blend of girly and grunge, pairing a floral-print, ruffled dress with leather lace-up, high-heeled boots. Asked to describe her personal style, she appropriately responded that it is both “pretty and punk,” and said that her “go to” outfit is a dress with boots “instead of dainty little shoes.”

Couture La La is Juicy’s new fragrance that incorporates both floral and citrus scents to give the perfume a fresh, youthful smell. Mitchell chooses the scent for its adaptability, saying it is “perfect to wear during the day and then transition into night.”

The Pretty Little Liars star goes on to comment that the Juicy Couture brand promotes “living your life to the fullest, being confident, and being comfortable in your own skin.”

The beauty was not always the fashionable young woman we saw at Wednesday's event. She, too, lived through the unfashionable early 2000s, a dark time when bedazzled, platform flip-flops and velvet pants were considered a socially acceptable combination. When reminiscing about her style days of yore, Mitchell lamented that she wore “a little too many prints all together, like zebra with a polka dot shirt,” and added, “I think there is an appropriate way to do that, and I don’t know if I did it so well back then.”

When asked about the latest episode of Pretty Little Liars, specifically the recent reveal that Ally (Sasha Peiterse) could have been pregnant when she was murdered, Mitchell said that her character (Emily) “is trying to play detective” and is now focused on “trying to find out what happened that summer.”

Additionally, Mitchell commented on her character’s relationship with her girlfriend Paige (Lindsey Shaw), which has recently been called into question due to Paige’s suggested partnership with ‘A.’ Mitchell does not seem too worried about this revelation, saying, “I honestly feel with Emily and Paige, their relationship is so strong that they have both been there for each other at times when it was really needed.”

You can see Mitchell (and her excellent fashion sense) on ABC Family at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Pretty Little Liars.
