'Pretty Little Liars' Star Ashley Benson Joins Kevin Spacey in 'Elvis & Nixon' (Exclusive)
Tate Donovan, Poppy Delavigne and Dylan Penn also join the indie.
Pretty Little Liars star Ashley Benson, Tate Donovan (24: Live Another Day), model-actress Poppy Delevingne and Dylan Penn, the daughter of Sean Penn and Robin Wright, have joined the growing cast of Elvis & Nixon, the true story drama that is currently shooting in Atlanta.
The movie, being directed by Liza Johnson, tells of the infamous Dec. 21, 1970, meeting between Elvis Presley and President Richard Nixon, both men at the height of their power in their respective fields. The meeting was initiated by Presley, who wrote Nixon an urgent six-page letter requesting a visit and suggesting that he be made a "Federal Agent-at-Large" in the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs.
Michael Shannon is portraying Elvis while Kevin Spacey is inhabiting Nixon.
Also in the cast are Colin Hanks, Alex Pettyfer, Johnny Knoxville, Evan Peters (X-Men: Days of Future Past), Tracy Letts (Homeland) and singer Sky Ferreira.
Benson is playing an American Airlines worker who is a huge Elvis fan. Donovan will be playing H R Haldeman, the White House Chief of Staff under Nixon.
Delevingne is a stewardess flying with Elvis to DC while Penn is a hotel worker.Cassian Elwes and Holly Wiersma are producing the indie.
Autumn Pictures David Hansen and Johnny Mac are financing and executive producing alongside Byron Wetzel, Robert Ogden Barnum and Jerry Schilling.
In addition to having gained a following for Liars, which is ABC Family's number one show, Benson starred in the indie hit Spring Breakers with James Franco and Selena Gomez and will be seen in this summer’s Adam Sandler comedy Pixels.
