The music sounds appropriately eerie

There will be some very ominous music playing next month as viewers try to figure out whether or not Nick killed his wife in Gone Girl

Trent Reznor has posted a preview to the Nine Inch Nails website of the score he wrote with Atticus Ross for the upcoming thriller.

The song, which Consequence of Sound reports is called "The Way He Looks at Me," can be heard here.

This is Reznor and Ross' third film-score collaboration, all three films having been directed by David Fincher. They previously worked on 2010's The Social Network and 2011's The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, with their score for the former earning them an Oscar.

Gone Girl stars Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Neil Patrick Harris and Tyler Perry. The film is based on the 2012 best-selling novel by Gillian Flynn, who also wrote the film's screenplay.

You can hear the score in its entirety when the film hits theaters Oct. 3.
