Clinton victory speech the peak with 2.9 million viewers

NEW YORK -- The Pennsylvania primary gave CNN a big win among the cable news channels on Tuesday night.

CNN won in viewership and the news demographic of adults 25-54 in primetime for its coverage led by Wolf Blitzer. CNN averaged 2.5 million viewers between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. ET while Fox News Channel averaged 2.3 million viewers and MSNBC had 1.6 million, Nielsen Media Research said.

The peak for CNN came in the 10 p.m. hour, when Sen. Hillary Clinton gave her victory speech, which was seen by 2.9 million viewers.

CNN averaged 805,000 viewers in adults 25-54 during primetime while MSNBC came in second place in the demo with 506,000 viewers and Fox News Channel had 556,000.
