Did Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Fly Coach to France?
Royals — they're just like us!
Following a whirlwind Christmas holiday with her future in-laws, Meghan Markle and her fiance, Prince Harry, decided to take a well-deserved breather from familial obligations and head to the French Riviera for a little R and R.
The kicker? Apparently, they flew coach. The Daily Mail reports that the couple boarded a British Airways flight out of London's Heathrow airport and sat near the rear of the plane — along with three bodyguards, of course — taking up three rows on either side of the aisle despite their small party.
Harry and Markle boarded the plane before other passengers and traveled incognito (at least, as incognito as a royal redhead and an actress can) by wearing hats and nondescript attire; so far, no photos from other passengers have surfaced of the pair on the flight. They were greeted by "heavily armed" French border police officers when they touched down in Nice and were then escorted to the VIP area.
The couple, who are engaged to be married this May, were reportedly headed to a private residence on the French Riviera where they had plans to ring in the new year with close friends.
With his decision to fly coach, Harry is following in his big brother's footsteps; Prince William has delighted passengers with his presence on past flights by opting out of first class accommodations. Royals — they're just like us!
