Prisa Snags Exclusive Rights to Real Madrid Mobile Content

The deal gives the Spanish media conglomerate content in North and South America.

MADRID -- Spanish media conglomerate Prisa and soccer titan Real Madrid announced Thursday an agreement that gives Prisa exclusive rights to all mobile content in North and South America.

"Recognition of the Real Madrid brand and the strength and possibilities of distribution by Prisa in America, will allow for high-quality content for soccer fans and opens a broad range of options for collaboration between the two parties," said Kamal Bherwani, general manager of Prisa's digital department.

The deal fits within Prisa's recently outlined strategy designed to develop and launch new digital content operating in a global framework.

"This accord allows us to offer our fans in America the best mobile content possible and strengthen our direct engagment with fans wherever they may be," said Real Madrid's mobile marking manager Pedro Duarte.

Two million users accessed Prisa content from mobile terminals in January of th is year, according to Omniture figures.
