The former Fox 2000 exec who championed "Walk the Line" brings with her a slate that includes the Blacklist script "Seuss," with Colin Firth attached to star.

Producer Carla Hacken has signed a first-look deal with DreamWorks Studios.

Hacken, the former Fox 2000 executive vp who championed the film Walk the Line, most recently was president of production at New Regency.

Before New Regency, she spent 15 years at Fox 2000, where she worked on such films as The Devil Wears Prada, Unfaithful, In Her Shoes, The Family Stone and both the Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Percy Jackson franchises. Before joining Fox, Hacken was a talent agent at ICM for nearly a decade.

Since leaving New Regency last year, Hacken has put together a slate for her Paper Pictures banner that includes The Leaves for Lionsgate/Summit; CBS Films’ The Man Who Forgot His Wife; Before I Fall, based on the best-selling YA novel by Lauren Oliver; Seuss, a Blacklist script with Colin Firth attached to star; and Kicked Out of Kindergarten with Conde Nast Entertainment, which Paul Weitz will write and direct.

In addition, Bronwyn North-Reist joins Paper Pictures as a creative executive.

Hacken's Paper Pictures joins a small group of producers that have a first-look deal with DreamWorks. Others include Mark Sourian and Frank Marshall.
