Producer Lloyd Phillips gets the shot

Phillips' photo exhibit shows off 'International' locales

More Berlinale coverage

BERLIN -- Lloyd Phillips' day job might be as a producer of studio tentpoles -- including Tom Tykwer's "The International" and Quentin Tarantino's upcoming "Inglorious Basterds" -- but Phillips trained as a photojournalist, and photography is still his true passion.

"I take photos on all the films I work on -- and at the end of the production, I put them together in an album I give to the cast and crew," Phillips said.

For the first time, Phillips will be showing these set shots to a wider audience at an exhibit that opens Saturday in Gallery C/O Berlin oHow evern Oranienburger Str.

The photos were taken during the making of "The International" and, to counterpoint the film's rapid-fire action sequences, they are a mostly serene and atmospheric look at locations in Istanbul, Milan, New York and, of course, Berlin.
