Quentin Tarantino: Obama "My Favorite President" and Has "Been Awesome This Past Year"
"His he-doesn’t-give-a-sh*t attitude has just been so cool."
Barack Obama has his detractors, but in Quentin Tarantino he has a committed fan.
In a lengthy interview with New York magazine, The Hateful Eight director said that Obama was "fantastic" and "hands down" his favorite president in his lifetime and he felt the president's recent success as well as how he has achieved that success has vindicated his support.
Tarantino was particularly impressed by Obama's recent back-to-back legislative successes, such as marriage equality, trade deals and cementing Obamacare. "He’s been awesome this past year. Especially the rapid, one-after-another-after-another-after-another aspect of it. It’s almost like take no prisoners. His he-doesn’t-give-a-shit attitude has just been so cool," he said.
He added: "Everyone always talks about these lame-duck presidents. I’ve never seen anybody end with this kind of ending."
The director also said that Obama had answered people who may have wavered in their support of the president or questioned the administration. "All the people who supported him along the way that questioned this or that and the other? All of their questions are being answered now."
