The film, featuring 42 country-specific versions, will be available free of charge on May 1 to coincide with the "Occupy Guitarmy" music march, led by the artist himself.

Activist and musician Tom Morello has had his finger on the political pulse of the world, as well as his guitar, for several years now. So it comes as no surprise that the Harlem-born songwriter would deliver a free multi-cultural documentary with an emphasis on social inequality.

Filmed at the Henson studios in Los Angeles and directed by Bobby Roth (TV's Lost, Prison Break, The Mentalist), the 30-minute film features Morello performing live selections from The Nightwatchman album "World Wide Rebel Songs" including "Black Spartacus Heart Attack Machine" and "Save The Hammer For The Man," combined with a Q&A with Morello.

"What is the World Wide Rebel Tour? Remember that old Coca-Cola commercial? 'I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony...?' It's like THAT...but with class warfare," Morello said about the project in a press release.

The film will be available in 42 different versions, featuring an interviewer asking Morello questions in their native language. Each individualized version will include one question that is unique to its respective country.

Morello, a Harvard graduate, enlisted the help of some familiar faces for the documentaries, including Serj Tankian of System of a Down (Armenia), Sen Dog of Cypress Hill (Cuba), Thomas Gobena of Gogol Bordello (Ethiopia), Kenyan Ambassadors and Dignitaries (Kenya), and many more.

"The World Wide Rebel Tour is a virtual tour spanning the entire planet. From Malawi to Myanmar, from Uzbekistan to the U.S.A., people's voices and struggles have made their way into my music,” said Morello of the documentary. “On May 1st, I'm returning the favor with this global rebel rocking throwdown. Free. Everywhere. May Day."

To kick off the release of his passion project, Morello will host and lead a march from Bryant Park in NYC to Union Station in an effort to encourage thousands of guitarists, string players, and singers to take part in the Occupy Guitarmy movement.

The march will come to an end with all participants performing Woody Guthrie's "This Land Is Your Land," Sergio Ortega's "El Pueblo Unido," Willie Nile's "One Guitar," Morello's "World Wide Rebel Songs," and the traditional spiritual "We Shall Not Be Moved," on stage with Morello.

Special guests including Dan Deacon, Immortal Technique, Das Racist, JD Samson & Men, Bobby Sanabria and many more will take the stage after Morello’s set. The Sidney Hillman Foundation will honor Morello later that evening with the Officer’s Award for his advocacy for and support of working people across the world.
