'Raisin' gives ABC Monday ratings win

ABC's movie adaptation of "A Raisin in the Sun" gave the network a rare Monday night victory, breaking NBC's six-week winning streak. Concluding its "Million Dollar Mission" stunt, NBC's "Deal or No Deal" still managed to take top honors for highest-rated show despite increased competition from ABC and Fox.

The three-hour "Raisin" (3.6 preliminary Nielsen rating among adults 18 to 49 and a 9 share) filled ABC's night, with the network winning among adults 18 to 49 (3.6) and total viewers (12.7 million).

Second-place NBC won the 8 p.m. hour with "Deal" (15.3 million, 4.2 /11) down 19% from last week's delivery. "My Dad is Better Than Your Dad" (7.8 million, 2.8/7) also slid, dropping 20% from its debut last week. An original "Medium" (7.6 million, 2.5/7) tied CBS's repeat of "CSI: Miami."

In third, Fox tried out "Moment of Truth" (3.6/10) at 8 p.m., which helped drag down "Deal" a bit and came in second place for the hour. As promised by Fox, the show's tone shifted once it was out from under the shadow of wholesome "American Idol," with a content-advisory-packed episode featuring a contestant revealing she cheated on her husband. At 9 p.m., "Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles" (2.7/7) was down about 16% from last week.

CBS was fourth, with a lineup impacted slightly by "Raisin." A repeat "How I Met Your Mother" (6.2 million, 2.1/6) was followed by "Welcome to the Captain" (5.3 million, 1.8/5), a repeat "Two and a Half Men" (12.2 million, 3.9/10), "New Adventures of Old Christine" (9.1 million, 3.0/7) and "Miami" (8.7 million, 2./5/7).

The CW aired a repeat of "Gossip Girl" (1.3 million, 0.5/1) and the second episode of "Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious" (1.7 million, 0.8/2) the latter down a tick from its debut.
