WATCH WHAT DOESN'T HAPPEN: Andy Cohen, Bravo's executive vp programming and host of its talk show Watch What Happens Live, has become almost as ubiquitous a TV presence as Ryan Seacrest. After subbing for Kathie Lee Gifford several times with Hoda Kotb on the fourth hour of NBC's Today, the chipper Cohen -- who can talk Spanx, styles and the wiles of housewives -- was asked by producers of ABC's Live! With Regis & Kelly to sit in for Regis Philbin, who is exiting in November. Word got out that Cohen could inherit the Rege spot, but producers were said to have found his ratings lackluster (this column previously reported that Cohen also wasn't interested). Now, as a kind of punishment, he won't be guest hosting on Today anymore. Cohen, it turns out, hadn't gotten the OK from NBCUniversal bigwigs for Regis, which competes with the fourth hour of Today, and it put them in a tizzy. Spokespeople at Bravo and Today did not get back to THR by press time.

Ellen Puts Her Money Where Her Mouth Is

Well, vegans Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are investing with Chrissie Hynde and Steve Bing in a new vegan restaurant for Ventura Boulevard. Pre-eminent vegan chef Tal Ronnen will do the menu, and Walda Fernandez is designing, a rep for Ellen says.

Project Halloween

After throwing her celeb-filled Halloween party for 11 years running, Heidi Klum will hold her freaky fete this year in two cities: Vegas (Tao on Oct. 29) and New York (Dream on Oct. 31). But can she outdo costumes like her 2008's Hindu Goddess Kali or 2007's cat with a tag that read, "If Found, Please Return to Seal"? Meanwhile, Matthew Morrison's second annual Halloween monster bash will take place at L.A.'s Voyeur. "I decided to celebrate with a party last year, and it was such fun I'm doing it again," Morrison, who went as Richard Simmons in 2010, tells THR. "Halloween's my favorite holiday -- because it coincides with my birthday."
