It was a family affair for Ron Howard and Bryce Dallas Howard as they came together to celebrate what Bryce Dallas called “an incredible Rance Howard performance.”

Although actor Rance Howard was not in attendance at the Broken Memories movie premiere Tuesday night in Beverly Hills, he was well represented by his son, producer Ron Howard, and granddaughter, actress Bryce Dallas Howard.

Before the screening of the film produced by Digital Jungle Pictures, the Howard family was gifted by Alzheimer's Greater Los Angeles with framed images captured by photographer Mark de Paola of Rance Howard and his wife, the late Judy Howard, who died in February.

Ron Howard said that he is very proud of his father, called his performance as a man suffering from Alzheimer's disease "the role of his career to date," and shared what inspires him most about his father. "He has an undying love of the process, which has made him appreciate every day on a film or television set," he said. "And he's never lost the youthful excitement for being a part of a process that tells a story that reaches audiences in different ways and reflects the work of a team of collaborators that share that excitement and that always rubbed off on me, that joy of being lucky enough to be among the storytellers."

Bryce Dallas Howard also had nothing but positive words to describe her grandfather, calling him the greatest human being on the planet. She mentioned an important lesson she's learned from him.

"He's had a 65-year career where he has never broken out as a movie star," she said, adding, "he's never made the money that people dream of, and yet he's carved out this incredibly unique and remarkable and beautiful career of a character actor. He's an example of that stick-to-it-ness and what that adds up to in a life."
