Range Media, the newly launched management and brand development firm, has launched a music division, tapping Matt Graham of music representation firm BRND MGMT to lead it.

Graham, who becomes a co-founding partner and takes on the position of head of music, will be joined by BRND partner and general manager, Jack Minihan, who will serve as Range’s exec vp of music. Also boarding Range are BRND’s existing team of managers; Jordan Dettmer, Stephanie Marks, and Alicia Mathews; and associate Isaac Zepeda.

According to Range, the new division “will look to expand and build out a forward-thinking music department representing artists of all genres, while developing and acquiring key assets in records, publishing and content.”

BRND’s client roster will follow to Range Media. Among the acts are Midland (Big Machine) and Wale (Warner Records), as well Nicky Romero (Virgin/Universal Music), The Score (Republic Records), Hailey Whitters (Big Loud).  Before forming BRND, Graham was one of the initial members of Scooter Braun Projects, acting as senior manager. He has also served in the past as a music consultant to Awesomeness TV and Netflix. Graham previously worked with numerous other acts, including Jack Harlow, Andrew Watt, Jasmine Thompson and Cody Simpson.

Graham’s previous firm fell in line with the kind of 360 thinking Range aims to exhibit in the representation sphere. Beyond the music-making and touring, it sought out book deals for its music clients, transitioned some into acting roles, and in the case of country music group Midland, launched tequila brand Insolito.

“In challenging times like these, artists need forward-thinking partners to help navigate the many ways in which to monetize their creativity and diversify their businesses,” said Graham in a statement. “This new ecosystem will allow our existing team and roster to take advantage of the vast resources available within a fully-integrated and full-service media company with the capacity to not only manage, but also to finance and create.”

Stated Range co-founder Jack Whigham, “Matt is a leader within the music industry and has a strong reputation for his character, taste and work ethic. While watching him build his own management company, we were blown away by how he represented his clients in such a dynamic way, with a deep understanding of the music business, but also a real knack for film, TV and brand-building. He also happens to be one of the most thoughtful people we’ve ever worked with, which makes us feel lucky to be partnered with him.”

Range was launched in late August when Dave Bugliari, Mackenzie Condon Roussos, Rich Cook, Michael Cooper, Susie Fox, Sandra Kang, Rachel Kropa, Chelsea McKinnies, Peter Micelli, Lucinda Moorhead, Mick Sullivan, Byron Wetzel and Whigham left agencies CAA, UTA, and WME to found the new company.
