'That's So Raven' Stars Reunite in NYC: "We're Closer Than Ever"

Oh snap! A That's So Raven reunion isn't a supernatural vision at all. Former Disney Channel co-stars Raven-Symone and Anneliese van der Pol joined forces once again Monday night for a special event in New York City.

The actresses hit the GLSEN Respect Awards together at Cipriani 42nd Street, laughing and posing together on the red carpet before the evening — honoring Matthew Morrison, Jon Stryker and more — began.

Van der Pol told The Hollywood Reporter that the two Disney Channel stars have been hanging out often while in Los Angeles, "but nobody knows about it because we were always in a car or at one of our houses or something!" Now that they're both in New York, they're hitting parties and plays around the Big Apple.

"We're closer than ever — people are just now seeing it, I think! We talk about everything and we really call each other out when we're messing up," she said.

On Symone's recent involvement with The View, Van der Pol added, "The world needs an openly gay young woman on there, because there are a lot of girls in high school, especially in the black community, [who need to see that on TV]."
