Life's a beach

House of Lies star Don Cheadle and his actress-partner Bridgid Coulter have listed their refined rustic Venice beach house for $2.45 million. Designed by Coulter, the three-bedroom, three-bathroom house sits on a 3,000-square-foot lot in Venice's Oxford Triangle. The environmentally conscious abode  — which includes a “doghouse” pop up — has hydronic radiant heating under all floors and remote venting clearstory windows. In designing the home, she used Zero VOC paints, FSC certified woods, green glues, natural marble and stone throughout. Outdoors, the yard is filled with local and drought-tolerant plants and features a rooftop deck with 360-degree panoramic views. The home is being listed by Rodeo Realty agent Rhonda Payne. It's 98 degrees in Encino

Nick Lachey has listed his Encino mansion for a hot $3.99 million. The 98 Degrees bandmember put the six-bedroom, eight-bathroom house that he shares with his wife, Vanessa, on the market just before he embarks on tour with his band, Zillow reports. Housed on a near half-acre lot, the 8,134-square-foot gated house is situated on a cul-de-sac and is ideal for entertaining. The 1981-built abode includes a living room, theater room with stadium seating, a formal dining room, a butler's pantry, a chef's kitchen (equipped with Viking appliances) and a large backyard that has a grassy field, fire pit, pool cabana/guest unit and a large swimming pool. Bye, bye Brooklyn

Alexis Bledel and Vincent Kartheiser have sold their Brooklyn penthouse. The married actors said goodbye to the one-bedroom, two-bathroom home for $1.32 million, Zillow reports. Bledel, who will star in the upcoming Gilmore Girls reboot on Netflix, and Kartheiser, who starred on Mad Men, have a former penthouse with dark hardwood floors, large windows, a built-in bookshelf, geometrically-shaped walls and 18-foot ceilings. Each room of the home features stunning city views, including water views from the master bedroom and a private 500-square-foot outdoor roof deck, which boasts sweeping views of Manhattan and downtown Brooklyn. A piece of Hollywood history

Silicon Valley actor Thomas Middleditch recently nabbed a piece of Hollywood history. The 34-year-old and his wife, costume designer Mollie Gates, purchased the 1920s bungalow, which once belonged to well-known set designer Charles Lisanby, for $1.5 million, Zillow reports. Featuring three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths, the Hollywood Hills 1927-built home captures a classic 1920s feel, with original detailed molding, stone fireplaces, large Palladian windows, exposed rafters, tile and woodworking. A bonus area, ideal for an office or additional bedroom, is the studio space located above the garage. Outdoors, the large patio and deck areas offer extensive space for entertaining guests.
