'Real Life' to open Dutch Film Festival

28th edition runs Sept. 24-Oct. 3.

AMSTERDAM -- The 28th edition of the Dutch Film Festival will open Sept. 24 with the world premiere of "Het Echte Leven" (Real Life), directed by Robert Jan Westdijk and co-produced by Fu Works and IDTV.

The story deals with a film director who has romantic problems with his girlfriend, who plays the lead in his feature debut.

Westdijk is no stranger to the festival. He won the Golden Calf for his first film "Zusje" (Little Sister) in 1995. Westdijk's last film, "Phileine Says Sorry," earned four Golden Calves in 2003.

The Dutch Film Festival is set for Sept. 24-Oct. 3.
