Reba McEntire to receive Golden Note

To be presented by ASCAP at Oct. 13 ceremony

Reba McEntire will receive the ASCAP Golden Note Award, honoring artists with distinct career achievements, at the 46th annual ASCAP Country Music Awards on Oct. 13 at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

"Reba is one of country music's greatest artists, and as an actress ... she remains true to country music, adored by millions of fans," ASCAP president and chairman Marilyn Bergman said.

The invitation-only event will also present awards to songwriter of the year, songwriter/artist of the year, song of the year and publisher of the year. McEntire joins previous honorees Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Tom Petty, Stevie Wonder and Quincy Jones.
