Red Carpet: PGA Awards

2012-04 CARPET PGA Jason Segel Paul Feig Judd Apatow H

"It's nice that people are figuring out that women are funny and women should be starring in things," said "Bridesmaids" director and exec producer Paul Feig (second from left). He posed with Jason Segel (left), producer nominee Judd Apatow and Apatow's daughter Maude.

The Producers Guild of America named The Artist best picture at its annual awards show at the Beverly Hilton, further cementing the film as this year's Academy Awards front-runner. But the night wasn't all about the Oscar horse race. PGA co-presidents Hawk Koch and Mark Gordon noted the group has grown to 5,000 members (No.?5,000 is Brad Pitt). In a cheeky clip reel dedicated to Milestone Award winner Leslie Moonves, narrator George Clooney got laughs mimicking the CBS president and CEO's negotiating style: "Why don't we just cut to the chase and get on with it and go back to our kids?" And Steven Spielberg, accepting his David O. Selznick honorary award, paid tribute to mentor producers Richard Zanuck and David Brown: "No one can succeed alone." -- Diane Gordon
