Redbox sues Warner Bros. over new policy

Judges tosses two complaints against Universal

Add Warner Bros. to the list of Redbox litigants.

The dollar-DVDs king sued Warners in U.S. District Court in Wilmington, Del., late Tuesday over the studio's recently announced policy prohibiting wholesalers from supplying Redbox with Warners discs within the first 28 days of release.

The studio's move followed similar to ones previously staked out by Universal and Fox, whose respective policies prohibit wholesalers from supplying Redbox with releases within their first 45 days and 30 days on the market.

A federal judge on Monday tossed two of three Redbox complaints against Uni, but allowed the core antitrust complaint to proceed.
