Reed MIDEM to launch Asian Amazia confab
EmptyCANNES -- Entertainment and media industries in Asia are expected to grow 10% a year until 2010. This was "the fastest growth rate in the world and double the growth in the U.S.," Reed MIDEM said Wednesday when announcing a pan-Asian event for international entertainment content across multiple delivery platforms.
The first Amazia exhibition and conference takes place in Hong Kong in November 2008, eight years after Reed MIDEM pulled its MIDEM and MIP Asia events out of the Asia-Pacific region. Reed MIDEM CEO Paul Zilk said at a press conference at MIPTV that the new show would combine elements of MIPTV, MILIA, MIPCOM and MIDEM television and music markets along with other entertainment content industries such as games.
