Reichert-Facilides quits Universum

Dirk Schweizer takes over at German distributor/producer

BERLIN -- Tania Reichert-Facilides has resigned as head of German distributor/producer Universum after 15 years with the company.

Reichert-Facilides, who has run Universum for the last 10 years, has expanded the Bertelsmann-controlled group from its core straight-to-video division into theatrical distribution and television and feature production.

Among her career highlights were all-rights deals for the hit "Transporter" and "Crack" franchises, which raised Universum's profile considerably. Reichert-Facilides said she now wanted a "new challenge" and would step down Jan.15.

Dirk Schweizer, head of acquisitions at RTL, will temporarily take over at Universum until a replacement can be found.
