Report: Hulu Plus Subscription Fee May Be Cut in Half
Hulu is considering lowering the monthly fee from $9.95 to $4.95.
Hulu is mulling the idea of cutting its subscription fee for Hulu Plus, which launched in June, All Things Digital reported.
The video site is reportedly looking at lowering its monthly fee of $9.95 to $4.95.
Hulu Plus was launched as a revenue generator to complement the free, ad-supported Hulu, which debuted in 2008. Content is limited to mostly current broadcast shows from its owners -- Disney (ABC), GE (NBC) and News Corp. (Fox) -- and other series that no longer air on TV.
Critics have complained that Netflix's service offers more content at the lower price of $8.99 a month.
