Retirement Living TV adds show

Gary Collins hosts entertainment mag program

Retirement Living TV, the network that targets viewers age 55 and over, is adding the new entertainment magazine program "NOW Playing With Gary Collins" to its lineup.

The weekly half-hour show, which the network is calling "Entertainment Tonight" for boomers, debuts at 1:30 p.m. EDT on July 6.

The show will feature a weekly perspective on music, DVD and film releases; entertainment star interviews; and film and Broadway premieres.

"Gary is a charismatic and warm host whose many years in the entertainment industry are a huge asset to RLTV's first entertainment review show," RLTV vp programming Elliot Jacobson said. "With his extensive entertainment experience, Gary will provide our audience with a unique insight into the seasoned stars of showbiz."

Emmy winner Collins hosted the syndicated program "Hour Magazine." He also served as host of the Miss America Pageant from 1981-90 and co-host of ABC's "Home" from 1989-94. He made his film debut in "Cleopatra"; other credits include the films "Airport," "Hangar 18" and "Beautiful" and the TV programs "Roots" and "Friends." He is currently starring in the original musical production "Senior Class."

The RLTV executive producer of "NOW" is David Wasser. Ben Garrett is the executive in charge of production for On the Scene Prods. Marty Tenney is the executive producer, and Tom Brocato is segment producer.

RLTV launched in September; its four-hour block of programming is available in more than 26 million U.S. homes and also will be available to 9 million additional homes in Canada later this year.
