Revelations' heavy hitters going Global
EmptyRevelations Entertainment co-founders Morgan Freeman and Lori McCreary have formed Global Revelations, hiring Ann Dubinet as president to develop a star-driven, international-oriented slate for the production company.
GR also will rely on former Myriad Pictures distribution president Dubinet to forge alliances with European, Asian and Latin American studios and financiers in addition to developing equity and hedge fund portfolios through her relationships with international co-producers and bankers.
A selection of upcoming features that GR is producing, budgeted at $20 million-$75 million, will be unveiled this month at the Festival de Cannes. Dubinet will team with Revelations production executive Tracy Mercer on global production strategy for the company's features.
Before her role overseeing sales and distribution at Myriad, Dubinet was president and CEO of film-financing company Alchemy Filmworks. She earlier headed the international division of production/sales at Island/ World, which was acquired by PolyGram. Dubinet also was Samuel Goldwyn Co. president of international distribution from 1985-90.
Revelations recently produced Robert Benton's romantic drama "The Feast of Love," starring Freeman and Greg Kinnear, financed by Lakeshore Entertainment and set for release this year by MGM. The company partnered with Intel for the Internet distribution platform, which released "10 Items or Less" in the fall.
