'Revenant' Actor Brendan Fletcher, Brendan Fehr Join Indie 'Brotherhood'
The film from writer-director Richard Bell also stars Jake Manley, Gage Munroe and Dylan Everett.
The Revenant actor Brendan Fletcher and Brendan Fehr (CSI: Miami) have grabbed lead roles in Brotherhood, an indie survival thriller from writer-director Richard Bell.
The film tells the true story of a 1926 canoe trip by the Brotherhood of St. Andrew church group that saw a teenagers’ canoe capsize during a lake storm, forcing a fight for survival. Fehr plays a church group founder, while Fletcher has the role of a church group official involved in the boating accident.
Brotherhood is shooting in northern Ontario on the Michipicoten First Nation reserve, near to where Fletcher last year sustained an injury during a scene involving a firearm on the set of Canadian TV drama Cardinal.
Production on Brotherhood will shift next week to Toronto. The film's ensemble cast includes Jake Manley, Gage Munroe, Dylan Everett, Spencer Macpherson, Sam Ashe Arnold and Matthew Isen.
Brotherhood is produced by Mehernaz Lentin of Industry Pictures, Anand Ramayya of Karma Film and Jonathan Bronfman of JoBro Productions.
Level Film is distributing the indie feature.
