Kim Kardashian, Cate Blanchett and Meryl Streep were fans of his edgy red-carpet designs.

Designer Riccardo Tisci has left Givenchy after 12 years, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

WWD reports that his last collections were for men's fall 2017 and fall 2017 couture, which he presented in Paris on Jan. 20. The separation is said to be "mutual and amicable," according to the fashion trade's sources.

Tisci is no stranger to Hollywood, having dressed a range of A-listers in the last decade. Meryl Streep most recently wore his design to the Golden Globes, where she delivered an impassioned speech, taking aim at Donald Trump. Cate Blanchett, Naomi Campbell, Kim Kardashian, Jessica Chastain and Nicki Minaj are among his famous fans to step out in his intricate and unique pieces.

The French luxury house was founded in 1952 by Hubert de Givenchy, whose most famous client was Audrey Hepburn, who wore his little black dress in the 1961 film Breakfast at Tiffany's. Givenchy retired in 1995, and John Galliano, Alexander McQueen and Julien Macdonald all took turns at the helm of the house.

But none was as successful as Tisci, a relatively unknown Italian designer when he started, who was able to redefine the house's aesthetic for a new century by marrying couture and streetwear, as well as tapping into global influences. His graphic print T-shirts and slip-on skater sneakers featuring fierce Rottweilers, roses and skulls created a new, younger customer base for the LVMH-owned label, which included rappers Jay-Z, Kanye West and A$AP Rocky. The designer has also had an ongoing collaboration with Nike.

Tisci's spring 2017 gem-themed women's ready-to-wear show was one of the highlights of Paris Fashion Week. In September 2015, the designer held a runway presentation on Manhattan's Pier 26 that was a touching remembrance of 9/11, incorporating performance art in collaboration with Marina Abramovic. The front row was packed with star power, including Julia Roberts, Debbie Harry, Courtney Love, Nicki Minaj, Kim and Kanye and others.

A successor has yet to be announced. It's rumored that Tisci could be headed to Versace.
