Ridley Scott to Get 30th American Cinematheque Award

The 'Blade Runner' director will be honored at Cinematheque’s annual benefit gala at the Beverly Hilton.

Ridley Scott will be honored with the 30th American Cinematheque award.

Scott's colleagues and friends will be on hand at an annual benefit gala Oct. 14 at the Beverly Hilton to honor the director and his career, from Thelma & Louise and Blade Runner to The Martian

"The American Cinematheque is extremely pleased to honor Ridley Scott as the 30th recipient of the American Cinematheque award at our celebration this year," said Rick Nicita, American Cinematheque chairman. “To state it simply, Ridley Scott is one of the greatest directors in the history of the motion picture."   

Previous honorees include Tom Cruise, Al Pacino, Reese Witherspoon and The Martian actor Matt Damon.
