It's all about the bucket hat, according to Melissa Forde and Wale's beanie brand Wrkng Title.

It appears the bucket hat is back. Or, at the very least, Opening Ceremony and Rihanna’s best friend, Melissa Forde, are trying hard to revive it.

Forde, a photographer who grew up with the superstar in Barbados (not to be confused with the original video model Melyssa Ford), has partnered with Wale’s beanie brand Wrkng Title for a collection that grew out of the void she saw in the market for bucket hats with the right fit, fabrics and prints.

The M$$ x WT collection for Opening Ceremony comprises three styles, including the mesh "Black Beauty" and colorful printed "Pink Pineapple" hats ($55 each). Forde, who considers the classic rapper accessory her own signature, was recently appointed creative director of Wrkng Title, where she’ll be refining the brand’s beanies.

In May, Opening Ceremony will get a second shipment, this time perforated leather bucket hats in white, black and pastel lavender and mint, along with a group of "oversized clown graphic buckets." The latter sounds a little scary, but hey, if bucket hats can be fashionable then maybe clowns can, too.
