'Riverdale' Star K.J. Apa Signs With UTA (Exclusive)
The CW’s new Archie also can be seen on the big screen in 'A Dog’s Purpose.'
Riverdale star K.J. Apa has signed with UTA, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned. He previously was with WME.
The newcomer portrays Archie Andrews on Riverdale, The CW’s dark take on the classic comic book series, which premieres Thursday night. On Friday, Apa can be seen in theaters as well in A Dog’s Purpose, where he stars as the teenage version of the character Ethan, whose bond with the titular canine is the film’s throughline.
It’s an American double debut for the New Zealand native, who got his start on the Auckland City-set soap opera Shortland Street and then was a regular on last year’s local sci-fi series The Cul De Sac.
Apa continues to be repped by Red11 Management in New Zealand and by Luber Roklin.
