Rob Reiner to receive Eddie award

Directed 'This Is Spinal Tap,' 'When Harry Met Sally ...'

Rob Reiner will be honored with the American Cinema Editors' ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Award on Sunday at the 60th annual ACE Eddie Awards at the Beverly Hilton.

A three-time DGA Award nominee, Reiner began his film-directing career with "This Is Spinal Tap" in 1984. His recent films include "Alex & Emma," "Rumor Has It ..." and "The Bucket List." His next film, the teen comedy/romance "Flipped," is slated for a September release.

"Rob Reiner is one of the most versatile talents in the entertainment industry," the ACE board of directors said. "He has directed some of the most influential motion pictures of the past 20 years and deftly moves between genres telling compelling and moving stories that weave themselves into our social consciousness. Additionally, he has established himself as a leading philanthropic voice in our community, fighting for our nation's children and the environment."
