Robin Tunney, Julia Garner Set NY Stage Bows in 'Smokefall'
They join previously announced lead Zachary Quinto in Noah Haidle's play, to be directed by Anne Kauffman for off-Broadway's MCC Theater.
Coming off seven seasons of CBS' The Mentalist, Robin Tunney will make her stage debut early next year, starring opposite previously announced lead Zachary Quinto in Noah Haidle's Smokefall.
Directed by Anne Kauffman, the play is being produced by off-Broadway's MCC Theater, with previews beginning Feb. 4 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre for a Feb. 22 opening.
Also joining the cast is rising indie star Julia Garner, currently onscreen opposite Lily Tomlin in Grandma. New York stage regulars Jon DeVries and Brian Hutchison complete the cast.
An unconventional domestic drama about family connections with elements of magic realism, Smokefall premiered to strong reviews in fall 2014 at Chicago's Goodman Theatre. That production was also directed by Kauffman, with a different cast.
The creative team on the MCC run also includes scenic designer Mimi Lien, a 2015 MacArthur Foundation "Genius" grant recipient. The limited engagement is scheduled through March 13.
