STORY: Shia LaBeouf Exits 'Rock the Kasbah'

The film centers on a washed-up music producer (Murray) who finds one last shot at redemption with a talented singer in Afghanistan. He manages her through Afghanistan's version of American Idol, the wildly popular Afghan Star.

The project is aiming to shoot this summer in the U.S. and Morocco.

Land, whose most recent credits include NCIS: Los Angeles and indie The Last Goodbye, will play the flashy producer/host of the reality competition in the QED International, Venture Forth and Open Road project. He's repped by Justice & Ponder.
