Rome film festival to push tax benefits

Initiative offers expert tax advice during the event

ROME -- Participants at the upcoming Rome International Film Festival will have direct access to information about tax benefits of shooting in Italy, organizers said Wednesday.

The initiative, sponsored by the Rome and Lazio Film Commission and cinema associations API and ANICA, will offer access to expert advisers, who will be able to help filmmakers determine ways to benefit from tax rebates and credits while shooting in Italy in general and specifically in Lazio, the region that includes Rome.

The advisers will be available at the locations used by the festival's International Film Market and at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, the festival's main location.

The Rome and Lazio Film Commission is one of Italy's fastest growing regional film bodies.

The Rome film festival is set to take place Oct. 22-31.
