Schwartz will work alongside president of worldwide TV and digital distribution Jim Packer to ensure full cross-platform digital exploitation of studio content.

As Lionsgate exploits its library of 17,000 titles, Ron Schwartz has signed a new long-term deal as president of worldwide home entertainment.

The latest agreement, unveiled by Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chairman Joe Drake, will see Schwartz continue to work alongside studio president of worldwide television and digital distribution Jim Packer on all home entertainment fronts.

Schwartz was first named president and general manager of Lionsgate home entertainment in 2014 as the studio moved to distribute its product across a growing range of global digital platforms. Lionsgate has continued to exploit new digital distribution windows, including the EST, VOD and day-and-date theatrical/VOD platforms.

Schwartz will oversee the domestic and international home entertainment sales of Lionsgate’s feature film slate and a growing slate of Starz programming. Additionally, he now oversees Lionsgate's home entertainment digital transactional business, including titles for the company’s Grindstone Entertainment and Premiere labels, sister company Roadside Attractions and third-party partners.

“Ron’s great talent relationships, business acumen and strategic vision have helped position Lionsgate as a global home entertainment powerhouse and an innovator in the media space," Drake said in a statement.
