Rooney Mara on Her Oscar Dress: "I Think the Process is Fairly Simple"
Rooney Mara is becoming well known in fashion circles for her crisp taste on the red carpet: she's a no-frills architectural kind of girl, as straight forwardly dressed as she is straight forward in interviews. Yet everything looks amazing on her. She can play it down and rev it up at the same time; Lisbeth Salander would probably even admire that.
The nominee showed up at the annual Oscar lunch in a black Issa top, loose silky black Issa pants and a white Thierry Mugler tuxedo jacket. And of course, she looked amazing - with no jewelry on and little makeup.
When asked about her role backstage at the luncheon, she said Lisbeth did not feel "that foreign" too her. Maybe that's infected her style as well - it's a definitely grown a little bit edgy.
The actress didn't become adrenalized when a reporter asked her if she has found her Oscar dress yet.
"I don't really know what I'm wearing to the Oscars," she said, rather deadpan. "I haven't found a dress yet. I think it's fairly simple: people send things and you wear what you like. Comfort is really the most important thing to me. I have to feel good in it. And I like simple things - and I don't like too much color."
As for her piercings, she admitted that she's keeping them - for the moment. "I only pierced one nipple," she confessed, making some in the crowd blush. "And I'm not taking it out - I really don't want to do it again."
