Rosamund Pike and Joel Kinnaman Still - H 2015

Pike is up for an Oscar for her turn in David Fincher's blockbuster, 'Gone Girl.'

Gone Girl star Rosamund Pike and The Killing star Joel Kinnaman are taking the plunge.

They are attached to star in The Bends, a diving adventure from producer Cybill Lui's newly formed Anova Pictures. Emerging filmmaker Jean Luc Herbulot (Dealer) is directing.

The film centers on a mysterious discovery at the bottom of the ocean that reopens old issues for a former combat Marine who is working to pay off his debt to the mob.

Sierra/Affinity will launch the high-profile project to foreign buyers at the upcoming Berlin Film Festival. It's sure to spark keen interest, thanks to its commercial potential as well as Pike's Oscar and BAFTA nominations for Gone Girl, the David Fincher thriller that stunned at the global box office, earning nearly $370 million to date.

Herbulot will direct The Bends from a script by Oliver Leo. Shelley Browning is executive producing.

Pike also is attached to romantic drama The Mountain Between Us with Charlie Hunnam. She's repped by CAA, United Agents in the U.K. and Magnolia Entertainment.

Kinnaman, who starred in RoboCop, has three films in post: Warner Bros.' Run All Night with Liam Neeson, Summit's Child 44 with Tom Hardy and Terrence Malick's Knight of Cups, which will screen at the Berlin Film Festival. He's repped by WME, Magnolia Entertainment and Hansen, Jacobson. Herbulot is repped by WME and the Gotham Group.
