Rose d'Ors going to Anthony, Macdonald

Honorary awards handed out at Swiss festival

TORONTO -- Veteran Canadian Broadcasting Corp. programmer George Anthony and domestic TV distributor Sheena Macdonald will receive honorary Rose d'Or awards at this year's annual TV festival in Lucerne.

Festival director Urban Frye said that Anthony and Macdonald have "spent their careers supporting richness and diversity in Canadian entertainment programming."

Anthony was a longtime creative head of TV arts, music, science and variety at the CBC before he recently became a creative consultant. Macdonald was head of Rhombus International for two decades before joining the Canadian Film Center last year as head of special projects.

Anthony and Macdonald will receive the honorary awards at the 49th annual Rose d'Or Festival in Switzerland, which runs May 2-5.
