Jason Wise's film celebrates the life and career of the legendary 'Dick Van Dyke Show' star.

Samuel Goldwyn Films has acquired worldwide rights (English-speaking territories) to Wait for Your Laugh, Jason Wise's documentary about the life and career of actress and comedian Rose Marie.

Samuel Goldwyn Films plans to release a DVD with extras in the spring, while releasing the film across numerous digital platforms. Vitagraph Films earlier acquired the North American theatrical rights to Wait for Your Laugh, just before Marie, who went toe-to-toe in a man’s world as wisecracking comedy writer Sally Rogers on the legendary 1960s CBS sitcom The Dick Van Dyke Show, died in late December 2017 at 94.

Wait For Your Laugh traces how the comedian, actress and singer traversed through every facet of the entertainment industry, from her vaudeville roots at the age of 3 to her work in film and on Broadway. The film features behind-the-scenes footage from the comedian's personal collection, chronicling what went on backstage on The Dick Van Dyke Show and other sets where she worked.

"The life of Rose Marie Is the story of the entertainment business. Jason has pulled back the curtain on an icon and created an incredibly entertaining film that we cannot wait to share with audiences,” president of Samuel Goldwyn Films, Peter Goldwyn, said in a statement on Thursday.

"I'm thrilled to release my third feature film with such an iconic and respected distributor. Samuel Goldwyn Films has proven to be a tremendous partner on my previous films Somm, and Somm: Into the Bottle," director Wise said in his own statement.

Wise produced the film with Christina Wise, in association with Forgotten Man Films.
