Ross elevated to Fox exec vp

Marcy Ross, head of Fox Broadcasting Co.'s current department, has been upped to executive vp current programming at the network.

Ross, who has run the department for the past five years as senior vp, will continue to oversee Fox's new and returning series. She reports to Fox Entertainment president Kevin Reilly.

"It's been clear to me even in the short time I have worked with Marcy that she completely lives up to her reputation as a gifted executive with a remarkable ability to work effectively with the creative community," said Reilly, who joined Fox in July. "She's put together a tremendous team, and we're very fortunate that she'll continue leading our current programming efforts."

Ross is the third Fox department head to get a promotion this month following reality guru Mike Darnell's elevation to president of alternative entertainment and publicity maven Joe Earley's bump to executive vp marketing and communications.

Ross came to Fox in 2002 after a stint at Studios USA, where she served as senior vp comedy programming, shepherding the company's comedy development.

She previously worked as senior vp creative affairs at the Jim Henson Co. -- where she oversaw the development of primetime series and telefilms as well as children's programming -- and as vp at Sandollar Television.
